Youth Service Bureau/Mishawaka Grand Prix

On Saturday, June 24th, Vogue School of Beauty participated in the 5th annual Grand Prix go-kart race at Merrifield Park during the Mishawaka Summerfest. Drivers Craig Scott, Joseph Nash, Bob Gaff, and Derek Eggleston started in seventh position after the initial trials. However, due to a broken axel, we were unable to finish the race. This event raised over $30,000 for the Youth Service Bureau of St. Joseph County.

Our drivers will be more than ready for competition next year. Come on out and help cheer our drivers on. We will have another All-Star driver lineup and plan on giving the other teams a real run for their money. It is fun for the whole family and for a great cause.

Relay for Life

Mishawaka, IN. – May 18-19, 2007 are dates that will stand out in our memories for a long time coming. Students and Staff of Michigan City Beauty College, Elkhart Beauty College, Huntington Beauty College and Vogue Beauty College located in Mishawaka, Indiana managed to collect over $4,700.00 for the Relay for Life Cancer Drive.

The Relay for Life is a 24 hour walking event with teams to raise funds for the Cancer Society.  The event went on into the night with various activities at all hours for supporters of all ages. Some Vogue staff members camped out to show their support and to participate in the night’s activities.

Luminaries for survivors and honoring those who lost the battle with cancer lit the Mishawaka High School track on both sides.  Luminaries spelled out the word “HOPE” in the bleachers reminding the walkers to keep on and not to give up the fight.

In addition to raising money for the cause, Vogue collected forty pony tails at the Relay for Life for Locks of Love. Students and Staff were on hand to cut and style all donors on Saturday.  All four schools continue to take in hair donations year around.  To date they have collected 1,700 pony tails.

Locks of Love

Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss. Vogue School of Beauty has sent in over 1700 locks to date and hope to send more soon. We will give anyone willing to donate locks of hair a free hair cut for their donation of 10 inches or more.
